Keiji Tachikawa has
worked for NTT DoCoMo and NTT for 40 years and has achieved international
recognition for his work within the high-tech and telecommunications
sector. Awarded the title of "Top 25 Managers of the Year 2000"
in Business Week, Tachikawa has continued to go from strength to strength
in contributing to the success of NTT DoCoMo. Tachikawa was also honored
with the IEEE Third Millennium Medal.
Tachikawa graduated from MIT with an MBA in 1978 and in 1981 received
his Doctor of Engineering degree from the University of Tokyo. Starting
his career in 1962 with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation,
he moved to New York where he was the American representative and founder
of NTT America Inc. in 1987. He has held numerous executive positions
at NTT including Senior Executive Vice President at the Business Communications
Headquarters of NTT and then ultimately, has become President &
CEO of NTT DoCoMo. Additionally, Tachikawa is a fellow of the IEEE and
the author of several books in Japanese on the future of the communications
and information industries.
